If you open the menu and click contacts, here you have the ability to make a list of contacts for your current event or future events. There are a few different ways to do this. Of course, the longest way would be to re-enter all of your contacts that you would like by adding their First name, Last name, and email address by clicking new for each person you would like to add.
If you have a Gmail account, you have the ability to import the contacts of your choosing to GroupTools by clicking “Import” in the upper left-hand side of the screen and then click “Choose Google Account”. It will automatically pull your google contacts and you can choose which contacts you would like to add.
If you did not register for GroupTools with a Gmail account, you will want to search your email settings for an option to export your contacts to a CSV file. Once you have done this, you will then have the option to import those contacts from your CSV file that you had saved to your device.
In order to upload your CSV file, please make sure your columns are structured by FirstName, LastName, and EmailAddress (with no spaces between the words). Please remove any added columns that were automatically downloaded to the spreadsheet if needed. It will only need to be the three columns listed above. If your downloaded file from your Email is structured differently, it will not allow the import. Please alter the CSV as needed.
Once uploaded, you’ll be given the opportunity to select which contacts to import or have the ability to import all contacts from your CSV file.
Once imported, if you click the drop down arrow to the right of your contact, you will have the ability to send a message to that person vial the mail option, delete that contact, or even add a tag for that person.
A tag would be a group name that you can add to a group of your contacts. With that tag added, you will have the ability to search that tag and it will only pull that specific group of guests for you.
To add a tag to a group of guests, simply click the check mark and it will open the bulk actions menu at the top of the window. You can choose as many contacts as you would like. When you do this, you can either delete the checked contacts, send a message, or add a tag to all of the contacts you have selected at once.
*Note: When Attendees are invited to an event, they no longer have to login or register to use GroupTools. Attendees can now view event details, communicate with the group leader, add guests and make payments without registering or logging in.
